What We’re Made Of was a textile and apparel design exhibition that used only 100% biodegradable natural fibers, dyes, and findings. Textile creation focused on post-consumer waste from discarded clothing and natural dyes from food scraps in response to consumers’ disposable relationship with garments and the prevalence of synthetic fibers in the fashion industry. Outcomes from this work were a personal look into the artist’s own history, present, and future, diving into the cyclical nature of existence and asking the question, what are we made of?
